# Broker Links and Buyer Attribution on Mumtalakat

> How a buyer is credited to you through your link, how long the attribution window lasts, and the cases where nobody is credited to you at all.

Your link is the whole of your trade. This page covers when a buyer is credited to you, how long that lasts, and — most importantly — when they are **not**.

## How attribution works

<Steps>
  <Step title="You share your link">
    Your code and link are on your dashboard. The link carries your code in `?ref=` and opens on the sign-up page.
  </Step>

  <Step title="The buyer registers">
    When the account is created your code is captured and the attribution recorded, and you are notified immediately.
  </Step>

  <Step title="You follow them on your dashboard">
    They appear under **Attributed buyers** with their stage: registered → verified → in a deal → closed. **Name and stage only** — no email, no phone.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  Your code is remembered on the visitor's device for a week, so someone who opens your link and registers later — or signs up with Google after an external redirect — is still credited to you.
</Note>

## When nobody is credited to you

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Your account is not approved">
    Before approval, and while suspended or ended, the link works but **does not attribute**. The platform says so plainly where the copy button would be.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The buyer already has an account">
    Attribution happens **only when a new account is created**. Someone already registered is not credited to you even if they arrive through your link.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Already attributed to another broker">
    Each buyer has **exactly one attribution**. The first capture wins, and it is not transferred later.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Your own link on yourself">
    Registering with your own account is refused automatically.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="A link without the code">
    Copying a listing URL out of your browser bar will not carry your code. Always use the share buttons inside the platform.
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

## The attribution window

Attribution is not permanent: each one runs for a set period shown on your dashboard (and on the **Your programme terms** card), and every attributed buyer carries a **countdown of days remaining**.

<Warning>
  A deal that closes **after** the window expires accrues no commission for you. Follow up with your clients before the window runs out.
</Warning>

## Buyer privacy

You see the buyer's name and stage only. **No email, no phone number, no details of their deal.** You brought them; you do not manage their relationship with the platform — a deliberate limit that protects both sides.
